During Q2, Olswang has acted on a range of acquisitions in the technology sector.

  • Linaro (June 2010) - Advised on the establishment of a new open source software engineering company called Linaro, whose initial members include ARM, Freescale, IBM, Samsung, ST-Ericsson and Texas Instruments. Simon Morgan and Nigel Swycher led the team.
  • NET-A-PORTER (April 2010) -Advised on the sale of on-line retailer, NET-A-PORTER, which was acquired by Richemont, valuing the company at £350m. Tony Leifer led the team.
  • Gorkana (April 2010) Advised  Gorkana, an online network and news service for journalists and PR professionals, on its acquisition by Durrants, a provider of media monitoring and analysis services backed by Exponent Private Equity. Chris Mackie led the team.
  • CareerBuilder UK (March 2010) -  Advised CareerBuilder UK, providers of the leading job search and career website, in relation to its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of CareerSite.biz. Amy Collins led the team.
  • Amdocs (March 2010) - Advised Amdocs, the leading provider of customer experience systems, on its acquisition of MX Telecom, a leading mobile payments and messaging aggregator, for a total consideration of approximately £72.6m. Stephen Hermer led the team.
