Olswang advises Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC on the agreement to acquire HSBC's Quantitative Techniques operation
Olswang has acted for Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, one of Europe's largest business and financial magazine publishers, on the agreement to acquire HSBC's Quantitative Techniques (QT) operation. QT is the calculation agent business of HSBC Bank plc and creates and maintains more than 100 equity and bond indices for HSBC's Global Markets division and 60 other external clients.

Educated at University College London and the Sorbonne in Paris, Mel assists a wide range of clients, including large global corporations, with their commercial and contractual arrangements and achieving legal compliance.
She has a particular interest in the technology, retail and e-commerce sectors, as well as data protection and consumer protection laws, and has enjoyed secondments to IBM, Skype and Marks and Spencer.
Mel regularly has articles published on the firm's website, the Datonomy blog and in external publications. She also edits and contributes to the Olswang Cyber Alert (see the October 2014 edition here) which looks at cybersecurity issues.
