Laura Daly is a Part Qualified Patent Attorney specialising in software, telecommunications and electronics.

Laura graduated from the University of St. Andrews with a MSci degree in Astrophysics. She then joined the University of Glasgow where she graduated with a PhD in Physics. She spent three years as a research scientist at UCL, studying high energy processes in extreme environments.

Laura assists in all stages of the Patent process, including drafting, prosecution, opposition and litigation. She has experience of the development and management of patent portfolios and spent several months on secondment in a portfolio management role at a leading semi-conductor company. Laura is particularly interested in the complexities of software patenting and the interaction of patents and standards.
