He has extensive experience advising domestic and foreign companies on corporate transactions, particularly on sales, acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate re-structurings focused within the TMT and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as on project finance transactions.

Javier commenced his professional career in Uría & Menéndez and he was one of the lawyers who founded Linklaters in Spain. In 2004 he joined the U.S. law firm Squire Sanders as a partner, subsequently becoming a partner of DLA Piper as a consequence of the integration of the Madrid offices of the two firms. Prior to joining Olswang, Javier was the Head of Corporate at Bird & Bird Madrid.

Javier holds a joint degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE).

He is Professor of Corporate Law at the University Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) and at Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
