Olswang has advised private equity house, ISIS Equity Partners ("ISIS"), on the founder led management buy-out of Encore Tickets Limited ("Encore"), the UK's largest independent theatre (and other attractions) ticket distributor and retailer, with a deal value in excess of £20m.
Encore has demonstrated consistent growth since it was founded and is now looking to accelerate its plans as it moves to the next stage of its development. The investment by ISIS will enable the company to take advantage of their growing presence in the B2B online arena and consolidate their leading position in the market.
Encore was established in 2000 by founders Ashley Herman (Deputy Chairman) and John Wales (Managing Director), who began by selling tickets to coach companies, group and tour operators and in reader offers. Today, the company has a turnover in excess of £40m.
The Olswang team was led by corporate partner, Chris Mackie, and supported by Carsten Greve, Oliver Bell and Rosie Burbidge. The transaction reinforces Olswang's established reputation in both the media and leisure sectors.
