Reed Exhibitions acquires the Aviation Division events of UKIP Media & Events - News

Acting for long standing client, Reed Exhibitions (RX), Olswang has advised on its acquisition of all six events of the Aviation Division from international events organiser UKIP Media & Events.

The acquisition gives RX entry into the specialised markets of Aircraft Interiors and Aerospace Design and Testing. The principal exhibition purchased in the deal is the world-leading Aircraft Interiors Expo, which takes place annually in Hamburg, Germany in April. Also part of the acquisition is another main event, Aerospace Testing Europe Expo, which takes place in Munich in March. Additionally, the division produces an Aircraft Interiors event in Hong Kong in September and a Design and Testing event in California, USA in November.

RX UK CEO, Alastair Gornall stated, “We have been following the growth of these excellent events for some time and are delighted that we have been able to complete this deal. This acquisition is another key part of our strategic plan to be a major global player in the aerospace market and we intend to use these shows as a springboard to develop further events to serve the civil aerospace sector."

UKIP Media & Events has agreed to manage the 2007 spring events – Aircraft Interiors Expo and Aerospace Testing Expo – on behalf of RX under the terms of a separate management contract.
